Arsenal and Liverpool are quietly confident of signing Newcastle’s star striker, Alexander Isak, despite the 25-year-old Swede being the most important player at St James Park.
There is a chance of this huge transfer happening, as Newcastle could cash in on Isak by demanding over £120m for him, which would give them the funds to buy two or three additional players ahead of their next Champions League and EPL campaigns.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool have the funds as they search for a world-class striker to help them towards Champions League glory and league success.
Newcastle are already being linked with Brighton’s João Pedro and Manchester United’s Mark Rashford, which could suggest The Magpies might be willing to sell Isak.
Liverpool would be almost unstoppable if they made this transfer, and Arsenal would undoubtedly improve their chances of winning the league if they signed Isak, having been frustrated in their search for a new number nine so far this year.
Isak scored an impressive 23 goals in 34 matches last season, as well as managing six assists, whilst only picking up one yellow card along the way.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are on the verge of signing Spanish international Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners are also close to securing the future of 18-year-old defender Myles Lewis-Skelly on a lucrative new contract after he had a superb start to his senior career at the Emirates Stadium.
